Three Serums, One Less Thing to Overthink: My Generations Skincare Edit

Glisten, Glow, and Glimmer sound like plans for a very good evening. They’re actually the three serums in a skincare set I like.

I enjoy beauty products. But I’m considerably less interested in turning my bathroom counter into a research department.

There’s a point when collecting another serum means figuring out where it belongs, what you already own that does something similar, and whether you’ve accidentally made getting ready more complicated than running your business.

That’s part of the appeal of the Generations Skincare 1 oz Trio. It brings together three serums—Glisten, Glow, and Glimmer—with distinct places in a morning and evening routine. The set costs $99.95.

My short review? I like them. And something is refreshing about a skincare collection you can explain without opening six tabs.

Glisten: the morning introduction

Glisten is the trio’s morning serum. The brand directs you to apply it after cleansing, then follow with your other morning products and sunscreen.

Having a designated morning product appeals to the part of me that wants a little order before the day starts making its own decisions. Coffee, skincare, getting dressed, locating whatever has mysteriously disappeared overnight. There’s already enough happening.

Glow: the one with both shifts

Glow is the morning-and-evening serum, with niacinamide, peptides, and hyaluronic acid among its ingredients. According to the brand’s directions, use it in the morning and Glimmer in the evening.

This is where the set makes practical sense: three bottles in the collection, with two assigned to each routine. You aren’t expected to stand at the mirror every morning layering the entire lineup and hoping you remembered the order.

The names are admittedly very radiance-focused. But once you know which goes when, the arrangement is straightforward.

Glimmer: the evening appointment

Glimmer is the nighttime serum. Its formula includes lactic acid, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, panthenol, and allantoin. The brand applies it after cleansing, then follows with Glow and/or a nighttime moisturizer once absorbed.

An evening routine needs to be manageable on nights when you have already made about 400 decisions. There is a meaningful difference between enjoying skincare and wanting it to become the final project of the day.

A clearly organized set has its charms at that hour.

Why this trio makes my beauty edit

I like the products, and I like the idea of buying a coordinated set where each bottle has a clear role. There’s room on a beauty vanity for discovery and experimentation. There’s also room for something that feels a little more organized.

For the FemFounder reader whose day moves between work, family, and whatever else has landed on the calendar, that’s an appealing proposition. Beauty can be a pleasure without requiring an elaborate production every morning and night.

I’m happy to give these three space on the counter. The names can handle the ambition. I’ll handle remembering where I put my coffee.
