The Jewelry I’d Wear With Almost Everything

Three Hushwink pieces that make a simple outfit feel a little more personal.

I tend to dress the same way: a simple top, trousers, leggings, or a skirt, and a few details that make it feel like mine. I’m rarely looking for more clothes to put on. Usually, I’m looking for the right finishing touch.

Jewelry is where I allow myself a little more room. A long earring against a plain knit. A small pendant at the neckline of an open collar. Something delicate at the wrist that you notice when you reach for your coffee. These are small decisions, admittedly, but I find them considerably more interesting than trying to make every part of an outfit compete for attention.

That’s what appeals to me about these three Hushwink pieces. They share a language of links, fine chains, and restrained proportions, with enough variation to keep them from feeling overly coordinated.

A Little Asymmetry

The Paperclip Chain and Pearl Mismatched Drop Earrings are the most playful of the three. Paperclip links bring a clean, linear element; pearls soften it. The intentional mismatch gives the pair its character.

I’d wear them with my hair pulled back, partly because that’s how I often wear it anyway, but also because earrings like these deserve to be seen. A black crewneck would be enough. So would an ivory shirt with the collar open and the sleeves pushed up.

What I like is that the earrings already draw attention. You don’t need to build an elaborate outfit around them. They can be the slightly unexpected thing in an otherwise familiar combination, which is generally my preferred way to dress.

The Necklace That Leaves Room

The Interlocking Double Link Dainty Pendant Necklace takes a subtle approach. Two interlocking paperclip-chain links form the pendant, and it's available in gold-filled or sterling silver.

This is the piece I’d choose for an open neckline: a shirt, a fine cardigan, or a simple top beneath a blazer. The shape has enough definition to register without filling the entire space.

I’d probably wear it alone. I appreciate beautifully layered necklaces on someone else. Still, on me, one well-chosen piece often feels more convincing, particularly when I’m already wearing glasses, earrings, and whatever expression the day has produced.

Something Personal at the Wrist

The Dainty Family Link Bracelet combines paperclip links with a finer cable chain. Hushwink offers different link counts to represent meaningful connections, including family, friends, and loved ones. The bracelet is handmade in Chicago and comes in sterling silver or gold-filled.

I like that the meaning can stay private. Others see a delicate bracelet; you know why you chose it. That makes it a thoughtful gift, especially for someone with understated taste who wouldn’t necessarily choose an overtly sentimental design.

I’d let it sit beside a pushed-back cuff, with very little else happening at the wrist.

Together, these pieces offer several ways to finish the same wardrobe. I wouldn’t feel obliged to wear all three every time. Some mornings, the earrings would be the entire decision. On others, I’d want just the necklace and bracelet.

The clothes can remain simple. I do like having something worth noticing.
